Postal Information and News:

With the current economic situation, even the U.S. Postal Service lost money in the quarter which ended June 30th, 2008. The loss, which was $1.1 billion, was blamed on reduced mail volume due to the slowed economy, coupled with the rise in transport costs due to the higher fuel prices.

The post office is trying to deal with the losses by cutting costs. These cuts have resulted in reduced staff, offering early retirement to supervisors, clerks and mail handlers.

How are you dealing with the economic difficulties the U.S. is currently experiencing? Like most Americans, you are probably having to cut back on unnecessary expenses. One way to stay on top of your financial situation is to check your credit report and credit score. You can obtain a copy of your credit report and credit score by either going online or using the postal service.

Checking your credit report and credit score at least once per year will help insure that you stay financially healthy and maintain a good credit rating.
